Ok... Lets face it. Recently our forum is not much of an FX fan community. For the past few weeks it been rather a random chit-chat tree-house club for a group of friends.
The main reason for this is that not many of us (is there actually anyone) still play FX. Homeworld 2 got its years and the community is shrinking. Newer better games come out with new attractions. People who played HW2 a lot years ago are getting tired and bored of it moving to something else... and so are we. No one is to blame for this... Its just the way things are.

However FX is still being developed. The pace is really slow and new updates take ages but 9CCN is still working on it. Weve all been tired of waiting and dissapointed with lack of balance and bugs... however FX mod still offers great original features which are worth attention. It still has the gameplay expirience found nowhere else and there are more features and fixes to come.

This might not work out but Id seriously ask all of you to give FX a last chance. HW2 is getting weaker with time and if we dont save it now then we certainly wont do it any later.
Perhaps some of you are no longer interested in FX and dont care much if it dies or not... even if so then please at least help out the others who still care.
ANYONES CONTRIBUTION IS OF GREAT VALUE.


Heres the last resort plan I came up with. We wont keep FX by ourselves. There are still people out there who dont know it and will want to know it. There are also people who do know it and play but dont know our forum. We certainly need to attract these people.

Here are a few thing we would need to have done for it:
• FX Starter Tutorial - A set of threads on the forum describing few most important things a new FX player should know. Most probably me and Wild will take care of this.
• More FX matches - Seriously guys... Cant you remember the last great 2v2 you had? Isnt that worth playing for?
• More FX discussions - Dammit! If only you spent 1/4th of your activity in Off-Topic on something FX related wed look so much better by now.
• More passive advertising - All kinds of userbars, screenshots, avatars, links, messanger status messages etc.
• More active advertising - Play the game, talk about it, tell your friends, try discussing FX elsewhere, try to get new ppl in etc.
• Checking (dying out) HW2 Gamespy server - Tell the people in lobby about FX. Make sure to get them here.
• FX movies on youtube - Many ppl look around there. Also HW2 fans looking for mods. Wed certainly need to get our piece of cake there.
• More FX experts - Gain skills and knowledge about FX. Share it and train other people who might wish for it. The more skilled players the more exciting the matches. (Cmon guys... I know you want it!)
• FX research team - Described here.
• FX tourneys - it is too soon for that. We would need some players who actually play before that. Before tourneys we must start just with FX matches. With time however this would also be needed.
• FX guild system - as above.
• MOST IMPORTANTLY: Will to help and contribute. Fight your friggin feeling of "Im booored of FX", "I doooont have time". Leave your EVE/WOW/whatever for an hour or two and help us out. None of us actually feels like it and we all have more interesting things to do... but for the sake of FX lets at least try to bring it back. Im sure youll get into it again once we start off.

The situation is bad... HW2 is slowly dying out and it certainly will be hard to get new people into FX. We cant make it with just a few of the points stated above... Wed need to get MOST OF THEM running. You dont have to do it all by yourself but if you want to help then please pick AT LEAST a few of them and try to complete them.
Seriously guys this is the last chance for us to revive the great game we all used to love so much!

Well... I retired from Homeworld 2, years ago and to be honest with everyone I never actually liked FX Mod .
Here's mai suggestion, those with Eve, buy the rest of us some subscriptions and we'll convert the forum to Homeworld Eve Online xD.

Well... I'm beyond ideas at this point, real ones for that matter. However I suggest a big forum makeover of the sort... get a new skin, somewhat sleeker design even though skins ARE limited... and I have practically seen every free one , short of making my own. And when I mean new skin, we'd use that one and only skin, I very much dislike multiple skins and if I had my way, we'd only have one skin (you try keeping 5 skins synchronised for every minor bloody change you make ).
Anyways... just thinkin a loud... new skin, sleeker design, reorganise forums, and sorta compact FX and expand in other areas. I mean seriously... each patch isn't getting massive improvements to be worth a full forum over.

Also, we should find something EVERYONE can play (for free... not damn wow or eve, gd4u to those who can brag about havin it). I know some of you are gonna kill me for this, but well.. Holic.... is a suggestion, unless no one cares about Wild being in the game then maybe something else (he ain't gonna budge... trust me).

Erm... Yea... If FX survival plan wont work then we will have to change the forum main content... However this is a topic for a last chance of FXs survival so could you please go dance on its grave elsewhere ( = make a new topic )? -_-'

Exile if you could help here then please do so. Im sure a really nice FX video showing all races could get a few people in here. In the meantime others (me and Wild for now T_T) will make sure that they will stay once they show up.

If I remember correctly someone somewhere said FX saves screenshots somewhere other than the default directory, I can't remember where but a good search of the forum may find you the answers.

It dumps it into its own directory which is either the Default drive or My Documents.

Anyway last chance eh? Bah were running into the ground and I ain't afraid to say it, excuse me for being philosophical but a dark storm is coming and I think it's headed straight for us.

FX will run into the ground unless if the word 'Serious' gets involved, not being funny but a Meeting over Xfire or whatever would be the best bet for this, I mean the last time we all got together like that was nearly 2 years ago?
